The Moravian Karst House of Nature
The Moravian Karst House of Nature is a modern visitors’ centre with an interactive indoor and outdoor exhibition and a 3-D cinema room. Besides learning the basic facts you can take an active part in exploring by using touch screens, mechanical models, real rocks and fossils, animations, dioramas, videos, games and quizzes. The House of Nature offers educational and adventure programmes for schools, travel groups, senior groups, organizations and companies. We believe that such an unusual experience will encourage your interest in the Moravian Karst and after your visit to the House of Nature you will get more than you might expect out of a trip to this region.
You can find us in Skalni mlyn, Czech Republic, 20 km north of the city Brno. Skalni mlyn is the most popular site for visitors and the meeting point in the Moravian Karst for those who want to visit the Punkevni Cave System, Katerinska (Catherine’s) Cave and the Macocha Abyss. The House is situated just a few steps from the car parks, from where you can walk to places of interest or can take environmentally-friendly public transport – a road train from Skalni mlyn to the entrance to the Punkevni Cave System. Macocha Abyss is accessible from a tourist trail or via a cableway.
