In November 2025, the reconstruction of a dilapidated building in Mariánskohorské Boudy near Albrechtice in the Jizera Mountains and Josefov Důl was completed. The new Information Center of the Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area will open in spring 2026 and will become part of the nationwide network of visitor and information centers "House of Nature".
Thousands of people go on a trip to the nearby Protržená přehrada (“Torn Dam”) on the Desná river. The Information Center will offer an interesting art exhibition about the Jizera Mountains, in which each element tells a different part of the story of this mountain range.
We plan to open the Information Center in spring 2026, when weather conditions allow. Visitors can also look forward to a brand new documentary film about the Jizera Mountains.
The project investor is the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic with funding from the National Recovery Plan - Support for the Recovery of Natural Landscape Functions. The reconstruction was carried out by KVAPRO s.r.o.
