House of Nature is a visitor center of the Jizera Mountains protected landscape area and is located in the peaceful village of Oldřichov v Hájích, which is the gateway to the Jizera Mountains north of Liberec. The area houses the natural history exhibition "Jizerka with all senses", a former half-timbered farmstead. The meadows, forests and the Jeřice stream around the area are fully used in our educational programs.
The Jizera Mountains - unique mysterious highlands, ancient forests and human stories. And also contrasts. On the one hand, vast areas of young spruce forests, on the other hand, exceptionally naturally valuable mixed forests and especially beech forests on the northern slopes of the mountains, which belong to the world natural heritage. The Jizera Mountains can also boast preserved remnants of original mountain spruce forests, unique peat bogs and a picturesque foothill landscape of meadows, pastures and groves with traditional rural scattered buildings.
