The Information Centre of the Moravský kras (Moravian Karst) PLA is located nearby Macocha, the deepest "lighthole" abyss in the Czech Republic. The centre is operated by the Cave Administration of the Czech Republic.
The information center serves as an information point for the Punkva Springs National Nature Reserve. The reserve contains the Macocha Abyss, which is one of the largest of its kind in Central Europe. The Punkva River flows through its bottom from the Amateur Cave to the Punkva Caves, which were previously open to the public and are among the most visited natural monuments in the Czech Republic. The Macocha Jan Šmarda´ Nature Trail lead through this territory.
