The Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area is a popular destination for tourists from all over the country. The charmingly undulating landscape covered with dense forests is a caress for the eyes and soul.

The Žďárské vrchy House of Nature is modern visitor centre located in the village of Krátká. The building is a historic farmhouse No. 2, from the second half of the 19th century. The name of the village could not be more apt (Krátká means short(village) and perhaps due to its size it has retained its original character that it was declared a Village heritage site. The picturesqueness of buildings is enhanced by their appropriate integration into the landscape.

The exhibition is showing the area in the period before the arrival of man, during medieval colonization, development of local industry, collectivization and is also looking into the future of the area. The aim of the houses of nature is to introduce to visitors the local area in all respects. If possible, they should perceive it with all the senses, all the pores.
